These groups are intentional in the way they live out community principles as demonstrated in the early church. (John 17:20-23; Acts 2:42-47 and the ‘one another’ passages of the NT). It is through relationships that are built in these Sunday morning communities that shepherding care and real biblical community takes place.
As the name implies our communities are specifically designed to minister to the needs of adults. The groups are much different than the traditional Sunday School Class but yet embrace the traditional elements of strong teaching and connectedness to the larger church. Many of our classes are made up by life cycle but yet we do offer several cross-generational options. Several of our Adult Communities offer a place of deeper connection in the form of either care groups or weekly small groups that meet during the Wednesday evening Life Training Electives.
It is our belief that every member needs to be cared for as well as being involved in caring for others. The Sunday morning Adult Communities allow the big church to have the smaller and intimate experience that adults need. We strongly believe that every member needs to be a part of one of our Adult Communities. Our goal in the adult community is to foster scriptural community and engagement in the discipleship process as we seek to live and proclaim the teachings of Jesus.

Amazing Grace |
We walk through Scripture, reinforcing our faith and trust in God as He prepares us for the storms of life and allows us to grow in faith, resulting in a closer walk with our Savior. We are refreshed and encouraged as we realize the “amazing grace” that works in us, individually and collectively, exhibiting to the lost and the saved God’s amazing work of Grace in our lives. Amazing Grace is a message to all ages that grace is not limited by our ability but it is freely given by God to all that believe. |

Berean |
The Berean Discipleship Community is a cross-generational class designed around three biblical concepts. Like all of our DCs at Heritage, our desire is to be Bible-centered in our teaching time. As the class name signifies, the goal is to approach the Scriptures like the Bereans in Acts 17:10-15. The Berean believers were of noble character and 'they examined the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.' As we study and learn the Scriptures, we desire to live life together, exercising the benefits of relationship principles found in the Scriptures, not simply on Sunday but also throughout the week. And third, we desire to be missional in the way we live and interact throughout the week in our local community. |
